The United States insists it is negotiating a peace agreement for Afghanistan, but the current agenda doesn’t extend beyond a timetable for a pullout of international forces. Sophia Jones, Global Editor for The Fuller Project, has been reporting from Afghanistan for years, and says a quick US exit could be a disaster for Afghanistan’s women. The lives of women in Kabul and other cities freed from Taliban rule in 2001 have improved greatly over 18 years. But all that, they fear, could be swept away.
