Here in the United States, a disproportionate number of women – whether they were last hired or not – have been the first fired from jobs undermined by the Covid-19 pandemic. In the developing world, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East where the pandemic has come late and hit hard, the impact of the crisis has been even harder on women. Jacqueline Paul is the Senior Gender Advisor for the World Food Program, helping women feed their families. They do 70% of the work of feeding.
