Today on HERE AND THERE, A Federal Judge slams the Dept of Homeland Security for breaking trust with a legal agreement on humanitarian treatment of undocumented children caught after they’ve crossed the US-Mexican border.  Georgetown Univ Professor Susan Terrio has a new book and 8 years of research on the agreement and how US immigration authorities have failed to live up to it.

Today on HERE AND THERE, amid all the hysteria over the recent nuclear arms agreement with Iran, some calm and reasoned judgment, from RAND Corporation Mideast specialist Dalia Dassa Kaye.  Her conclusion, the agreement isn’t perfect, but it is more than good enough with clear benefits not just for Iran and the US, but for its chief denouncers, Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Today on HERE AND THERE,  It’s a series of circular problems for New Mexico: the more people litter fields with household garbage, and dump big items like mattresses, and refrigerators into arroyos and stream-beds the more other people add to the mess.  Reporter Margaret Wright of The New Mexican has looked at the mess, and the inadequate state, county and municipal budgets that leave it to volunteers to clean things up.
