Lt Gen Michael Flynn, Donald Trump’s choice as National Security Adviser is frequently called, “the best intelligence officer of his generation.” But what does that mean? His revolution in how intelligence is gathered and processed changed the American war against terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan.
